Basic gameplay - rise of legions is a hybrid-MOBA, tower defense game with deck-building. In your match, you and your opponent start with 1 tower and 1 nexus. and 1 uncontrolled area in the middle. you are both given 300 mana, used to summon units within your "territory" which is indicated in green, and 1600 essence, used for spawner units which are placed on the 20 tiles behind your nexus. The tiles activate at random spawning the spawner unit. the tiles have a complete refresh every 40 seconds. Mana that is spent is equal to the essence gained. you regenerate mana at a constant rate and if you hit the cap (400 mana in the beginning) it will be stored as essence. the goal of the game is to destroy the enemies tower/s and nexus. there is 1 uncontrolled area in the middle if you have total control of that area, after a moment you will have a tower spawned for you, the progress is indicated by a blue line becoming a circle or red for your enemy. progress towards towers can become interrupted by enemy units in that area. if a tower is destroyed it becomes an uncontrolled area. In the match you start in phase 1. It can go up to phase 3 depending on your tier, phase 2 starts at 4 minutes and phase 3 at 8. if the match gets passed a certain time it will go into showdown mode (time is dependent on tier, the higher the tier the longer the matches will go before showdown ) showdown mode will cause mortars to fire at each others nexus doing damage to it depending on how many towers each player has control of. the mortars come from the towers so if no towers are owned then no mortars will be shot. the tiers are separated into : Stone, Bronze, Silver, and Gold.[edit | edit source]
